well, i have and am sure many have ,observed the increasing pollution levels- both noise and environmental....
today im talkin about noise pollution... more specifically about the increasing number of idiots who drive on our roads, honking about crazily oblivious of the ruckus they create. it compels me to wonder what drives these people to constantly honk... impatience, lack of civic sense, lack of a basic duty of care to another and plain stupidity in not knowin how to "behave" on the roads...
i mean picture this.... an arterial road, choc-a-bloc with a serpentine queue of vehicles during peak hours.... a well known fact to all those stranded on that very road... yet i find some very sensible people honking away to glory.. like where am i to go?!?! [considering the fact that i ride a two- wheeler, how much of the road can i possibly occupy!] another place where u can find such idiots at work- traffic signals... both when its about to turn red- [the honking levels rise in proportion with their BP levels methinks.. i mean comon its not the last green signal-y honk like theres no tomorrow! ] and when its about to turn green- like its some sorta run race, the faster u go the greater u win!
simple road sense and basic common sense solves the problem....
but since common sense is so uncommon i was deeply thinking of suggesting to the Road transport authorities and Traffic police to implement the H.H.S - The Human Honking System.... [ an idea i hit upon when i was stranded in traffic]
what really is the H.H.S... a system wherein we, the people yell instead of honking... where the new horn is not in the car but in our vocal chords!where if we want the driver in front of us to move we simply yell..[local slang, some very gracious epithets are purely the user's choice ;)]wherein the manmade horns give way to the man himself !
i mean really imagine the variety a co stranded road user can get?!?! creativity at its best... be it in different ways of yelling or in selecting the choicest epithets[for those who aint blessed with a very nice tongue] :)
four easy steps to implement the H.H.S-
- ban the existing honking system- no more shall motor vehicles come with inbuilt horns!
- ban all those providers of fancy horns, jarring horns etc... [ a fine of sorts for any person found installing horns in vehicles]
- educate people about the new honking system.
- finally encourage people to be vocal,to make themselves heard-literally ;)
the advantages of this system:-
~~its free! every person has it.
~~its effective since every person has an amazing capacity to yell.
~~it ensures safety. picture the scenario, really.... since there no longer exists horns of any kind, each driver will drive cautiously and within the speed limits.
~~ it will drastically cut down the noise pollution... i mean really how long can one yell!!!
~~ finally with all this it should automatically inculcate in these idiots some road sense, common sense and a duty of care....
what say... feasible?
:) :)

random events
well thats exactly wats been happening the last few months....
honestly i find this year moving at jet speed...
jus so many things have happened and its been so long since they happened yet i get the feeling they just happened!
a good friend of mine went overseas to pursue her higher studies, its been 3 months she left, but seems like yesterday....
i wrote exams jus 3 months ago and here i am ready for another round in dec.... it seems like ive only been studyin....
a good old friend of my dad and now a very good friend of mine[ my aunty friend :)] came down last week to visit us... was here for four and a half days and buoy they just sped by... being the lady she is vivacious, jovial and fun to be with that was bound to happen..
many happy and few not so happy events, cherished moments with loved ones, a bitter tiff with a relative have all happened at such speed that im fuddled with the chronology now... not that it matters perse, but generally for records sake....
neways methinks im just the sorts who like to pen down stuff like this ;)
so just incase ur bored, sorry :)

final year, finally :)
am finally in my final year of LLB...
time sure flies...just seems the other day when i joined LLB...
two years of an interesting blend of subjects and professors... few gems and the rest the choicest cartoons!
i know... i know its bad to badmouth lecturers, but what the heck can one do when you end up witnessing a real sad set of them!!!
what with some real hilarious language employed in class, some even worse with their histrionics in class.... a lady professor applying burnol on her legs in a class consisting of both men and women!?!?! or way back in first year a professor [whom my friend and i named "sleaze ball"] almost converting the classroom into a playground....
all said and done all this does indeed add that extra zing to college life... so hey am not complaining... am only sharing my views:)
suddenly final year also seems hectic... crucial papers, some silly assignments to submit and above all barely any time to do justice to the exciting and interesting subjects we have this sem :(
it was august when i stepped into my final year and now in a months time will be writing exams... phew!
hopefully will be able to grasp as much of the subject i can the next one month...
and all the more hopeful for a great result...
btw scored the second/ third [matter in dispute] highest in my last sem....
collars up :)

SHIVAAAJI !!!!!!!!
thats one word that's been doing the rounds in the recent past...
a whats-the-story, much awaited, delayed several times, media hyped, madly booked for weeks, movie....
after all it stars none other than the cigar flipping, coin tossing, goggles swirling superstar rajnikanth!!!!
managed to see the movie on the day of its release.... bought a ticket worth 35 for 150, a reasonable steal considering the fact that elsewhere in the city where i live the same 35 rupees ticket was sold for as high as rupees 1500 !!!
this is the second time i witnessed a movie with all the fan frenzy that such super stars enjoy.... hooting, whistling and paper throwing... must say that the frenzy wasnt as much as it normally should be... probably because it was the third screening in the day ...
so now to the main movie... well honestly,i personally think the movie's been over rated...the first half of the movie is rather slow... the second half revs up the viewer...the storyline i thought was similar to another runaway telugu hit....anyways...
what surely takes the cake is rajni's experiments with his hairstyles...simply awesome... at his age i must say he carried it off with elan! be it the blonde or the streaked, the curly or the bald, the long or the short, almost all the hairstyles suited him prefectly... his costumes too were nice... some of the floral and random prints shirts he wore were real nice :)
the actress was good too... though personally i liked her indian look better than the her western look... most of her western attires were horrendous!
music was a real disappointment.... all the more because A.R.Rehman was the music director... it must be his worst music ever!
mmhh all said and done quite worth a watch... atleast for the hairstyles and costumes and some very novel creativity... for instance the painting of a pot, or a tigers face on the pot bellies of the dancers... looks quite nice :)
personally i would not mind watchin the movie again, preferably from the second half :)

my piano classes, finally :)
there are a few things i always wanted to learn but never got too really...
one among them is learnin the piano... i like music and have always wanted to learn a western and indian musical instrument...
with effect yesterday i started to learn the piano...am back to school again... learning it under the able guidance of sr. edwin of my school :) got back a little while ago from my second class :)
my observations:
learning the piano aint as easy as i expected it to be...
thought i can finally lay my hands on the keys...
am far from it...am playing on keys drawn out on paper.. a learning process to keep my fingers steady [by placing a five rupee coin] and getting the position right!!! quite a task it is....
second task is to learn up the notes... the order, the symbol, the notation...
thats all i have been exposed to until now.
the treble clef indicates i have to use my right hand, while the bass clef indicates i use my left hand!
the notes are written on 5 horizontal lines called the staff...
each line called the 1st line, 2nd line so on... and the space between them called 1st space, 2nd space until 4th space...
the notes are written on or between the lines... with two bars at the end of such staff indicating the end of a piece!
thats all i have learnt till now :)
will stop now as i have to go learn up my notes and complete my 'piano homework' :)
more updates later :)

my tryst with chess
this post is solely dedicated to the two persons who tried to teach ME the game of chess :)
the first attempt was made by my brother a decade ago or more...it was a futile attempt... for someone as restless as me it was a wrong move... to sit and stare at the chessboard and the chess coins.... wonderin wat the next move maybe and should be was something i could not do... at that point of time for me to sit steady and think was impossible...
a decade later the second attempt to teach me the game was by my sweetheart :) himself an avid chess player he's been wanting to teach me the game 4 quite sometime... friday last was when i could no longer avoid learning it :)
his was a decent attempt.. i atleast have a fair idea as to how the pawn, the bishop etc move... though with alot of confusion :)
we started off the game but lo behold i just kept moving some coins because i had too... the familiar 'have a game plan, strategy etc...' was missing...
to think about my move based on wat my opponent may move was simply unfathomable!
i couldnt even think that far, honestly.
minus the game of chess and i am really quite a far sighted person... worry too much by thinkin a lil too much... but somehow this thinkin does not help me in the game...
so bottomline is that i tried to understand the game, in vain...
methinks it'l take me quite some time before i can get close even :)
this is in my opinion i wonder wat my sweets thinks of it.... may be he'l never try teachin me again ;)

loudly thinkin...
as always been a while since i blogged...
reason an unusually unbearble summer with the heat takin an unusual toll on me!
was down with a heat stroke which gave way to a bad cold and finally culminated into a severe cough [which hasnt gone yet] and a sapped body devoid of energy!
phew! one long sentence :)
im not a science student or nething so im not using any related nomenclature...
all i can observe is this... a vicious cycle of sorts... its unbearably hot and therfore we all tend to turn on the air conditioners... be it a car, home jus about anywhere....
this in turn generates alot more heat.. have u ever stood beside a car that has the ac on... or near the compressor of an air conditioner... one can actually feel the heat!!!
so,there we go... generate more heat to pacify the existing heat!!!!
also im loudly thinkin of an eligibility test to buy a new car... a test on I.Q and more importantly on Common sense and Road sense obviously depending on whether its a saloon or sedan or suv model... the level of difficulty being directly proportional to the the increasin length and height of the car!
seriously, the city where i stay[ hyderabad] is gettin crazier by the second...
good road sense and lane discipline is alien to us... wats more annoyin now is that 4 wheelers start driving like 2 wheelers...squeezing in the slightest of visible space!!!
i have invariably observed the long and snooty sedans being parked jus about anywhere obilivious to their size and the inconvenience caused therby.i personally think each victim of such senseless parkin should just go ahead and deflate the tyres :)
my tolerance levels hit an all time low when i hit the road... since im more of a biker than a driver i sometimes visualise a baton in my hand which i could use whenever someone drives like an idiot...
i do not know when technology will aid the adminstration in spotting all the idiotic drivers that rule our city roads.. that day must come soon...

the namesake...
saw the "namesake" last saturday... a movie version of jhumpa lahiri's book by mira nair.
an awesome adaptation must say :)
brilliant acting by irrfan khan and tabu and young 'gogol'
brings out the emotions and related intricacies so very well....
tabu was brilliant as the young bride adjusting to the all together new surroundings and marital life... irrfan khan was as always great, the one thing that was strikingly good was his 'bengali ' accent... unlike the so many other serial and movies i saw this guy got the accent jus right... did not overdo like most others do...
young gogol was cute after his much needed haircut :) was good as the typical youngster who grows up to be responsible...
the rest were good, too..
my word.. go watch it... simply nice :)

the deep sea
mmhh watched a 3d movie called the "deep sea" about life underwater sunday last...
an awesome movie with kate winslet and johny depp as narrators .... she was good , he i thought wasnt too clear with his diction...
but the main starcast the aquatic animals were awesome... barring for a few weird lookin creatures and the coral reef dat gave me a gooseflesh, the rest like the jellyfish, the quicksilver[dats the name i think, condone if wrong], a particular 'molla molla" fish , the sharks and another very graceful predator apparently[4get the name, was too busy njoin the movie] were a treat to the eye...
a 50 minute coverage it sure was worth every minute...
the big i-max screen only added to the enjoyment :)

my burrday morrow :)
well its my birthday morrow :)
am always excited bout my birthday, dont ask me why...
irrespective of the number of years that add to my age with each birthday i have no qualms in accepting that even now im as excited as a kid bout my birthday...
my birthday is not complete until i cut a cake, yes, even now... size doesnt matter, but there has to be a cake... i wont even settle down to cut a pastry!
normally, i start thinkin o my bday one month in advance[no kiddin] and one week b4 im really happy :) thanx to this attitude o mine many of my close friends who have a lousy memory, cannot 4get to wish me.. what with a constant reminder bout what i intend to do on my bday, what will i buy etc etc....they dare 4get :)
surprisingly , this time around im not as enthu as i am always... to dampen my otherwise low spirits is a lousy cold that i caught last evening :( this is the last thing i need with an otherwise messed up nose[ my screwed up nose piercing!]
ive decided to treat my cold this time round[usually am not the 'pill-popping' kinds]and no matter what i will surely njoi my day morrow...:)
let the years add on, at heart im always gonna remain a kid :)

a costly nose piercing.....
well got my nose pierced a month ago at bangalore...
looked cool suited me great......
was fine for a good one week from the time i got it pierced... no pain no screw up nothing... was smooth...
exactly a week later the nose ring got yanked out by a towel thread...some negligence on my part looks like...though i still maintain that i took due care...
that was only the beginning... my nose was swollen, went to the goldsmith he managed to remove the mangled and 'lost in my nose ' nose ring, pierced a fresh copper ring...
was fine that evening and then again started the trouble...
an ugly pus infection that doesnt seem to go...
honestly i dont think ive ever taken care of my nose as i am now...
am tired... two rounds of antibiotics seem completly inconsequential!
am jus giving myself another 3 days time.. to follow the goldsmith's remedy... if it works fine else i bid goodbye to my nose ring :( :(

mmmhh been a while since i blogged...
not dat i was busy elsewhere... jus dint feel like it..
was doing this course online... a course on intellectual property conducted by "wipo"...
jus gave the online exam a lil while ago...
decent score, as per their rating a "good" though i ideally wanted an excellent...
some o the questions were really tricky...
everything bout the course was good, neatly planned, explained well and good presentation...audio segments gave that additional boost to learn and understand better..
the only hitch was in the end of module exams... the questions framed were real good... would have been better if they had provided the answers for the questions we got wrong....
so i still am clueless as to the answers to those questions!
neways am done with it and it was a nice experience , am now waiting for them to mail me my certificate, will add lot of weight to an otherwise dull resume :)

walked down the roads of comm street[ commercial street's nickname ]...
drove by MG's and Brigades..[again the hep version 4 mg road n brigade road]
tried out some real neat restaurents...
went pubbin one night and danced like never before...
got challaned by the local cops for not wearing a helmet!
hung out with a friends relative....
hung out with my own friends... got real crazy with a photo session that we had...
sat yappin late into the night..bitchin about some old common lecturers and some not so interesting classmates :)
njoied some real good hospitality by a friend who provided shelter at that unearthly hour of arrival in blore.. by a friend's parents who were so welcoming and warm..let us borrow their son's bike....by a friends relative who gave us a wonderful day...
and by my own friends who gave me a blast of a time the last two days....
all in all da trip was faboulous... though i had some crazy sleep schedules and eat schedules it was worth every one bit...
the city as always is wonderful.. get to c the latest fashion, a wide range of good lookin guys and girls, therby leaving neither gender dejected... alot of youth and therefore loads o life!
the only flip side being the city has gotten a little too dusty n polluted...and the traffic snarls have only worsened....even at 1130 pm the roads r congested.. something unthinkable of really in my hometown...
in the end it doesnt really matter as long as one's had a good time... and that i surely did :)
signin off...

my day today...
well must say ive started my day rather early... its 1 am and here i am bloggin...
yesterday and day before have been rather boring...
had a boring xam to give yesterday... finally am done with it... only hoping that im done with it in entirety implyin i dont flunk in the paper... it will be highly painful to have to rewrite the paper!!!
this is perhaps the only time i remember in the recent past , where i had zilch inclination to read... i had to force myself literally to read... vexed, i gave up and decided "que sera sera sera"...
must admit have a misplaced sense o optimism!!!
the heat's gettin on,the sun blazing at its best... a long drive from the exam centre to get home only worsens the condition.. like fuel to the fire is an empty growling stomach...
got home, hogged and crashed...
lazed around , met up with a [busy] loved one ;)
got home, dined, browsed the net and sat in fronto the idiot box 4 a while...
and finally did some productive work... enrolled for this course online so yeah got online and derived some "gyaan"
and heres where i finally come to the "day today"...
started off studyin, then this post and now for some good sleep[ hopefully, have had some crazy sleep schedules the last few days!?!?]
rise and shine and hit the gym after a 4 day break.. been very irregular this month....:(
after that well the whole day's in a limbo... it solely depends on my friends...
hopefully will have a nice weekend :)

a day's break
was out of the city for a day with family and family friends...
like ive mentioned earlier, the company can make the saddest of places, lively and fun...
a day of hectic activity... loads o fun and a welcome break from the regular rut...
the itinerary as follows :)
left for vijayawada on the night of 29th with family and friends...
reached on the 30th at an unearthly hour...4.40am...
drove down to the hotel, refreshed, relaxed and ready to go...
a nice long drive to this temple town called "chinna tirupati" [ a smaller yet equally powerful version of the famed temple at tirupati]
a good and quick darshan, a tonsuring session for the two kids[ the reason of the whole trip] and finally gettin to eat the prasadam...the first morsel of food for the rest[ i had 2 biscuits, very less by my standards but cudnt wait without food for that long :)]
another short drive to a nearby temple...
a decent drive to this place called eluru... our lunch halt...
hogged like never before...
this place was action packed. visited about 5 families, each one interesting than the other... one was a house that was 72 years old, simply sexy... did not have the heart to leave that place... the people were also so affectionate... another family who despite not having the means were xtremely loving and affectionate... lived upto the indian tradition of " athithi devo bhava" [ a guest being an incarnation of god]to the tilt...
finally the drive back to base camp[ vijayawada]...
enroute the hotel a stop at another friends place where we treated to an awesome lemon black tea :)
a visit to the famed durga temple, had a very nice darshan there...
back to the hotel, refreshed and relaxed...
meanwhile i went to this hotel called "babai hotel" famous for its idlies... was hell bent on tryin it out.. succeeded... amazin idlis that melt in your mouth....slurp!
dinner at the hotel we put up in... sad service, a bunch o sloths to serve us!!!
and finally the journey back to the station...
the train back at 10.20 pm
arrived in hyderabad at 4.20 am!!!!
came home, crashed!
all in all, was simply fun :)
