lesson -2

this is the second of lessons i have learnt in my 25 yrs of existence!
a very recent lesson at that...
it is good to be nice but not at the cost of being stupid!
some people just don't appreciate nice behaviour!
i believe one must be nice, but I'm learning now that one must first be practical, sensible and discreet!
i have recently moved into the outskirts of my city to pursue my Masters in Law. it being a residential course am compelled to stay in the hostel despite the fact that my home is just an hour away...
so what happened was that for a certain someone who's parent wanted me as their ward's roomie i tried all permutations and combinations[in fact we]to be in one room... with just two days down at the hostel i realise its a blunder....the person in question has already bonded with another and is barely ever in the room . i understand that being a localite i will go home every possible weekend, during which the other will necessarily be alone... and no I'm not cribbing that i have to have someone with me always... but when i went out of the way to see to it that we share a room i expected better. as per my allotment if i had someone who bonded better with others i would not have really complained...
obviously i do not expect everyone to bond with me... no! il be stupid if i was thinkin on those lines...
so in retrospect i wish i had continued with my original allotted room... I'm sure i would have been better off!
well hopefully in two months or by the end of this semester we are to be allotted single rooms, that will put to rest all sorts of unpleasantness!

so moral of the story...
be nice, but before that be discreet... take your time to see if the other party deserves nice behaviour... especially when it is something you have to deal with often!
