so i finally saw the movie yesterday afternoon..finally, because i heard and read quite many things about it... some o my friends who stay in the US [and therefore saw it before me] thought it was amazing, superb and the like...
now that i have seen it, what is my take?
well i think it is a nice movie, certainly..not great or breathtaking or fantastic or the like!!
yes what i did like the best is the characterisation- the kid>> adolescent>>youngster jamal, salim and latika were perfect.. especially Jamal.obviously effort has been made to make the 3 different people look like one.. be it the hair, the eyes and the characteristic ears jutting out[incase of jamal] kudos to that!
the one scene where the two young brothers hold each other while sleeping on top of the train was beautiful!
now about the music- a golden globe award could have been given for numerous other movies composed by rehman...in my opinion, several movies of his are worthy of getting the golden globe when compared to slumdog millionaire!
the background score is undoubtedly nice[ after all rehman]but not spectacular so as to win a golden globe!
i personally think the movie is overrated.and honestly i am trying to find out why?
all in all i think the movie can be definitely watched once. and no more!
